At the Hannover Messe 2012 the ISD Group will present the latest versions of its software solutions for engineering: The CAD system HiCAD, the PDM solution HELiOS, and the product configuration tool HELiCON. Focused on “Smart Design” technology, the new versions support the user in an intelligent way through design automation and cross-checking of defined rules.

“It was our goal to provide our customers with tools allowing them to realise innovative ideas in a fast and easy way, while sparing them tedious routine tasks and administrative work that could draw their attention away from their visions”, explains Dr. Jörg Ruhwedel, General Manager of the ISD. “This is exactly what our new software product generation can offer – countless tools, whether small-scale or large-scale, can be perfectly adjusted to the individual needs of the respective customer – in any situation.” The user is enabled to speed up and optimise the engineering process, from the automation of subtasks through to the construction of entire models at the push of a button.

The new features and enhancements included in the new versions underscore this trend: According to the principle of “Design Sharing”, 3-D model drawings can now be exported as 3D-PDF files. This interactive representation allows a viewing and evaluating of the models from all sides even without HiCAD, e.g. by moving, rotating or zooming them. Furthermore, the export formats U3D and JT are supported as well. Other enhancements include additional options for Steel Engineering variants, various calculation tools such as FEM etc., and the further expanded HCM functionality. HELiCON 2012 provides the user with efficient tools for engineering process automation and sales support.

All new functions have been embedded in a new Look & Feel allowing an even more convenient and intuitive operation. Further support is provided by a new Online Help that can be called via the Internet.
